Originally built as a residence for the Harris family (grandparents of Julie Harris, the Broadway actress) in 1896, this 7,500 square foot Victorian mansion sits in front of Indian Village and is one of only a handful of commercial properties in Detroit's premier historic district. The area, including this building, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. As a result, preservation, maintenance and security are high priorities for the 300 or so similar homes that make up this area. The ongoing Detroit Renaissance taking place along the riverfront make this an investment that can only grow with time.
